Crews from Prince Frederick (Company 2), St. Leonard (Company 7), Huntingtown (Company 6), Solomons (Company 3) Dunkirk (Company 5), Mechanicsville VFD and Hollywood VFD, worked through the night opening the walls and extinguishing hotspot areas inside.
Both were cadets in recruit class 54 and are now probationary firefighters.
Assistant Chief Holzberger and Junior Firefighter Delehanty were on site to help guide and educate about 50 3-5-year-olds on fire safety.
The crew from Squad 2, Engine 22 and Safety Officer 2 removed the roof of the vehicle, along with the assistance from Huntingtown Volunteer Fire Department.
Kaden specialized in the welding program at Calvert Career Technology Academy (CTA), and Nick focused his efforts on the Firefighter / EMT program.
When the initial units and Chief 2-A (Holzberger) arrived crews located a car inside a church in the 2100 block of S Solomons Island Road.
When units arrived on location around 12:45 p.m. the animal was heard barking and about 20 feet down an approximate 100 foot cliff.

The 7th annual Daring the Blaze 5k will take place on Saturday, June 24, 2023 in Dares Beach.
Congratulations to Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department’s (PFVFD) Nicholas “Nick” Boswell for placing first in the state of Maryland for the annual SkillsUSA competition held in Anne Arundel County. Nick moves forward to a national stage and is set to compete against other students across the country in Georgia in June.
